Bringing the Cloud to the West End

Nederlander decided the time was right to rethink and update their box office system. 

The Nederlander Organization selects Spektrix for continued growth in the post-‘We Will Rock You’ era. 

Spektrix, the leading cloud-based box office management software for the arts, has been selected by the Nederlander Organisation to improve data-driven decision making and gain new insights from audiences of the West End’s world-famous Aldwych and Dominion theatres.

A leading name in the West End and on Broadway, the Nederlander Organisation was established in New York in 1912 and includes some of theatre’s most famous venues. With the winding down of the phenomenally successful 12-year run of We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre, Nederlander decided the time was right to re-think and update their box office management system.

The company wanted to consolidate audience analytics across its venues through its Primary Tickets unit to better understand purchase behaviours and enable faster development of packages and short-term offers. With ticket sales of over 7.2 million for We Will Rock You alone, providing box office staff with web-based and easily-navigable user interface was also important. When the show closes on 31 May 2014, it will have been performed at the Dominion an astonishing 4600 times.

David Pearson, General Manager of the Dominion Theatre, commented:
