A big part of supporting you to make the most of Spektrix is putting on events that will help you overcome challenges and come up with new ideas to take back to your organisation. That’s why as a Spektrix user, you get events as part of the service, in exactly the same way as you get training and support, strategic projects, upgrades, custom reports and more.
To make sure our events are supporting all Spektrix users in making their organisation thrive, we want to make sure there’s an event for every type of Spektrix user.
We took a year off from the Spektrix Conference in 2017 to work on an events calendar that would do exactly that and now we’re excited to share it with you. Whether you’re someone who wants to get to grips with the system better or someone who leads teams and wants to change how your organisation or the sector does things, there’s an event for you – from seminars that dive deeper into key sector issues to workshops to provide practical advice.
At every one of our events, you’ll be able to make connections with other users, hear from experts on topics relevant to you, contribute your ideas to the community and meet us, the Spektrix team.
Opportunities for learning and discussion don’t stop at our own events though. We also attend, speak at and sponsor events by our partners in the sector throughout the year so you’ll find a list of all those events too.
Explore the full events calendar below.
Workshops are practical sessions for box office, marketing and fundraising teams that aim to promote best practice and address common questions. Previous topics include increasing customer loyalty, teaching your colleagues how to ask for donations and improving the online booking experience using Spektrix.
Who is it for? Everyday users of the system who need actionable insights they can take away and apply to their Spektrix system.
How do I book? You’ll get an email when booking opens. It’s first come, first served so be quick because places get booked up.
When and where is it? The workshops will be repeated twice a year in the Spring and Autumn around the UK so as many different people can attend as possible.
Missed our Spring 2018 workshops? Don't worry, we'll be back in the Autumn with another programme of informative workshops. Check out the workshop resources.
Roundtables bring together small groups of Spektrix super users to openly and collaboratively discuss ideas and interesting uses of Spektrix – all with the goal of sharing knowledge across the community.
Who is it for? Spektrix super users by which we mean, users experienced in using Spektrix who are ready to tackle more advanced uses of the system. Places will be limited to one representative per organisation.
How do I book? If we think a roundtable is right for you, you’ll get an email inviting you to book. Or if you want to register your interest, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
When and where is it? They take place every two months in different locations around the UK and Ireland.
Seminars by Spektrix
We’re working closely with other industry experts to develop seminars covering some of the biggest issues in the sector right now. For example, we recently delivered seminars on complying with GDPR for GDPR decision-makers in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin. If you haven't already, download our GDPR toolkit for arts organisations.
In November 2017 we collaborated with Thrive, the audience development agency for Northern Ireland on an event hosted at the mac Belfast. This event was all about Building Resilience and Audiences and we looked at audience retention, KPIs around resilience and audiences, and how your organisation can use practical research methods to get to know your audiences better.
At the end of May we teamed up with our friends at Culture Republic to host a seminar for Scottish arts professionals to discuss some recent challenges with specific reference to the access and participation in the arts. For more information on this seminar, check out our two blog articles, Another Conversation about Access to the Arts and Another Conversation about Access to the Arts? Part Two: Resources, Funding, Sustainibility.
Who is it for? Who the seminar is for will depend on the topic. To make sure that each seminar has the most impact on your organisation, we’ll invite users in the most relevant roles.
How do I book? If a seminar is right for your role, we’ll invite you to book via email.
Where and when is it? They will take place regularly across the year around the UK and Ireland.
26th September, Leeds Town Hall
We took some time off to rethink the Spektrix Conference in 2017 and build our new events calendar. Now we’re excited to announce it’s back. We’ve made some big changes, including taking it out of London and refocusing the conference to equip senior staff and managers with the insights and tools they need to make change happen at their arts organisation. But our focus on providing you with great content and connecting you to your peers in the community has stayed the same. Spektrix Conference will take place over one day and we’ll invite over 350 senior team members to take inspiration from leaders in and outside the sector, hear about experiences from across the Spektrix community and meet with their peers.
Who is it for? Department leads and managers. There are a maximum of two spaces for your organisation and they're already reserved. We have a finite capacity and want all client organisations to be represented.
How do I book? If you're a Spektrix client, you or someone in your organisation has received an email with the booking information including a link to the booking form. If you haven't had an email and think you might have been missed off the list, just drop us a line at email@example.com.
