The 2018 Spektrix Workshops

After Spring's successful run of Spektrix Workshops, we’re delighted to announce that we’re heading back on the road to do it all again.

Spektrix Workshops are practical sessions for box office, marketing and fundraising teams that aim to promote best practice and address common questions. This year we have a bumper programme of strategic sessions on topics such as prospecting your database for the next big donors, creative ways you can use email automation, maximising revenue through your box office, and much much more.

Who are the Spektrix Workshops for? Everyday users of the system who need actionable insights they can take away and apply to their Spektrix system.

How do I book? You’ll get an email when booking opens. It’s first come, first served so be quick because places get booked up. Spektrix Workshops are free to attend.

When and where is it? The workshops take splace in the Spring and then are repeated in the Autumn around the UK and Ireland so as many different people can attend as possible. If you can’t attend the Spektrix Workshops this Autumn, don’t fret! We'll be hitting the road again next Spring with a new programme of engaging workshops. 

This Autumn we’re heading to four cities across the UK: Belfast, Coventry, Southampton and Leeds. If you’re a venue interested in hosting a Spektrix Workshop in Spring 2019, we’d love to hear from you.

We could talk for days about why we love the Spektrix Workshops, but we thought we’d hand over to Andy, Spektrix Support and Training Consultant and ticketgeek about why the Spektrix Workshops are a must-attend event if you're a data-loving arts professional.

I’d heard of the fabled Spektrix Workshops before I joined Spektrix last year, and I’d always been keen to find out what magic went on behind the green curtain… Not long after I started at Spektrix, I attended the 2017 Workshops at The Carriageworks in Leeds, and I was blown away by the day. It was really obvious to me that so much thought, user analysis and consideration had gone into creating the content of the day so that it was helping our users meet their organisational and departmental goals. From my experiences working with other system providers in the past, I’d never seen that level of consultative proactive support before.

I think what makes the Workshops so useful for Spektrixers is that it’s an open forum for sharing not only what we consider best practice in the sector, but it also lets us shout about the great features in Spektrix, and show users how they can adopt them to meet their business goals - and then some! We’re constantly innovating and evolving the system with the user in mind, so we love having the chance to show everything that's available to you and how you can use little Trix of the Trade in your day-to-day operations to shave time off your day and crack on with your exciting projects.

The Workshops are also a great opportunity to bring together lots of Spektrix users to share thoughts, ideas, and experiences, as well as promoting collaborative ways of working. As a Spektrixer, you’ll get the chance to connect with other arts professionals in your area who are facing the same challenges as you, so it’s a great opportunity to get to know them better, soundboard ideas, and hear how they’re using Spektrix.

What I’ll be covering at the Spektrix Workshops

I’ll be delivering a workshop on how you can use Spektrix to develop an effective offers strategy for your organisation. Offers can (and should!) be used as part of a broader pricing strategy, rather than just a reactionary measure to try and reverse stubborn ticket sales.

Having worked in ticketing for over ten years, I’ve often experienced the stress and panic of rolling out last minute discounts in a last-ditch effort to boost ticket sales. This way of working causes unnecessary stress and panic for frazzled teams who on top of their usual workload, are trying to set up a series of complex offers as quickly as possible. There are so many nifty things you can do in Spektrix to measure and pre-empt sales patterns, while the audience insights you can see from your data should challenge and inform how successful your offers strategy is working with different segments of your audience.
