There’s a new girl in town. We’re really excited to welcome our new North America Managing Director, Becca Goland-Van Ryn.
I’ve been spending a lot of time in the US in the last year and as I looked for friendly faces to get to know in the sector, I was introduced to Becca. Becca was working with digital arts marketing consulting firm Capacity Interactive, where she was Director of Operations, and has a had a great view on the the arts scene here.
One coffee led to another, and as we got to know each other, it became clear there was a lot of synergy between us. It turned out that Becca shared a similar commitment to a few of the key foundations of Spektrix - people, culture and service delivery. Perhaps most importantly, Becca also shares our ambition to change the arts industry and help arts organizations work smarter, not harder.
When recruiting at Spektrix, we make sure new team members believe in our vision and values, and have the potential to fit in with our culture. We believe that these elements are pivotal to our success, and seeing Becca’s natural commitment to these made us confident she’s the right person to help grow our North American business. She feels like she’s part of the family, and she hasn’t even started yet.
Her remit is to grow our presence in North America - ensuring we maintain our culture as we do it. She’ll be out and about meeting clients and prospects alike and helping build our reputation through networking and conferences. She’ll also be listening closely to what people have to say about the challenges their businesses face and thinking about how we can develop our offering to better suit the needs of arts organizations. As one of our number one values is to put our people first, she’ll be working closely with the team to support and develop their careers within Spektrix. And of course, she’ll be working closely with the wider Spektrix team, liaising with everyone from the product team to the marketing team, to make sure we’re working as smartly as we can now we’re a global business.
Becca’s background working at, and with non-profit arts organizations makes her perfectly suited for Spektrix and we’re thrilled to bring her experience to our team in New York. She’s previously worked at Manhattan Theatre Club, Serino Coyne, a full service Broadway advertising agency, New York City Center, Arden Theatre Company and The Pearl Theater Company. She also has a degree in Theatre and Communications from The University of Pennsylvania.
A theatre-lover from a young age, Becca loves dance and other performing arts events around the city. Her current favourite musical is Hamilton and she also loves to read - you’ll find her bag full of books rather than a kindle.
Welcome to the team!
