Regent's Park Open Air Theatre
Technical expertise and sector experience
Our team in the UK is steeped in sector knowledge, drawn from first-hand experience in audience engagement roles and years of partnership with the organizations we serve. Team members live and work across the UK, with vibrant offices in London and Manchester which form a base for client visits, in-person user Hubs, and regular collaboration.
Born out of the UK arts sector
Spektrix CEO and co-founder Michael Nabarro was running a theatre in Cambridge when he experienced first-hand the challenge of finding good software for ticketing and audience engagement. Combining his experience as a software engineer, theatre leader, and lighting designer, he and a colleague created Spektrix – and today, we continue to base every decision around the needs of the sector we were created to serve.

Does Spektrix integrate with Illuminate and/or the Audience Agency?
Yes. We work closely with many organizations supported by Arts Council England, Creative Scotland, and other national funding bodies, and we work proactively to help you meet their requirements.
Organizations which are funded by Arts Council England as National Portfolio Organizations (NPOs) will need to report on their activity using Illuminate, an audience data tool created by PricewaterhouseCoopers. You can learn how Spektrix works with Illuminate in our Support Center.
Organizations which are funded by Creative Scotland as Multi-Year Funded organizations who have direct audience engagement will be expected to join Audience Answers, the Audience Agency’s audience insight and development platform. You can learn how Spektrix works with the Audience Agency in our Partner Directory.
Do you work with local authority venues and organizations?
Yes. We work with hundreds of theatres, museums, and other organizations which are operated by local authorities.
We are experienced in supporting local authority processes, empowering cultural, procurement and IT security teams to assess and affirm the security and robustness of our solution, the social value our technology enables, and the value for public money investment in Spektrix represents. We understand that data security is a priority for many local authorities – you can learn more about our security and compliance practices, including PCI Level 1 and ISO 27001 accreditation, in our Trust Center.
Which payment providers and currencies do you support?
You can accept customer payments, and manage your contract with Spektrix, in either British pounds or Euros.
In the UK and Ireland you can accept payments using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, gift vouchers, Theatre Tokens, cash, or check.
Using Spektrix Payments, you can also offer Apple and Google Pay, or enable payments in installments using Klarna via Apple or Google Pay.
We strongly suggest that organizations working with Spektrix also use Spektrix Payments as our close partnership with Adyen makes it possible to provide smoother checkout flows, modern payment methods like Apple and Google Pay, and higher levels of payment fraud protection.
If you think you may be restricted to specific payment providers, please talk to us about this early so we can assess the best way forward with you.
Do you serve organizations in the Channel Islands?
Yes. We can work with organizations based across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands, and all British Overseas Territories.
We also work in the US, Canada, Australia & New Zealand, and Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Does Spektrix support the Welsh language?
Yes. You can choose to offer customer-facing content in the Welsh language using our translated iframes, or give audiences a choice between a Welsh and English language purchase pathway.
The back end version of Spektrix, which you and your team will use, is only available in English.
How do you ensure that audience data is stored securely?
All audience data is stored in the UK and EU under GDPR frameworks.
Data may be processed by Spektrix team members in the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe under the same strict security measures we apply in the UK and Ireland.
We provide you with the tools you need to comply with all UK and European data protection legislation, and we hold ISO 27001 certification – the gold standard in data security – for our treatment of the data we hold on your behalf.
