Spektrix UK Hubs: Enriching connections across the cultural sector

Spektrix UK Hubs: Enriching connections across the cultural sector

In summer 2022, Spektrix users in the UK and Ireland were invited to Spektrix Hubs - our first full series of in-person events since Covid-19. This was an exciting opportunity for marketers, fundraisers and box office professionals to exchange ideas and explore possibilities together with members of the Spektrix team.

Four half-day events took place in London, Edinburgh and Manchester, with users from 70 different organisations enjoying a programme including user-led lightning talks, masterclasses in reporting and automation, website inspiration and a sneak peek of future feature releases. If you couldn’t make it, we’re afraid we can’t replicate all of the many inspiring conversations or connections that took place on the day - but we’ve turned a sample of the key content into blogs and recordings which you can also access online.

"Really informative afternoon. I always go away so motivated to try something new. The trick is how to keep that motivation going next week when I confront my inbox on Monday morning. Thanks Spektrix for another fab day"

Shared learning and best practice for communications teams

It’s always a joy to hear exactly what Spektrix users are up to, and how they’re using CRM tools to meet their organisational goals. Huge thanks to Hatti Simpson from Woolwich Works, Victoria Murray from the Traverse Theatre, and Wesley Thistlethwaite from Contact for sharing ideas ranging from audience personas to the value of time.

Users particularly loved the Reporting Showcase. Packed with practical steps and brand new reports, this 20-minute lightning tour was designed to ensure everyone could make the most of the powerful audience data in their Spektrix systems.

"Very useful session with Rebecca. She unlocked so many mysteries for me. I now feel more confident the system can help me achieve my objectives."

Their enthusiasm for data was borne out last week when Rebecca took us even deeper under the Spektrix bonnet in a recent Spotlight Session, sharing a wealth of ideas and tips on how to get the most of our reporting tools. This proved to be our most popular user webinar ever, and we’ve added a recording of that version to our Insights Library, so you can visit it again and again.

"Really helpful and inspiring afternoon, and also laid back and unintimidating! Every speaker spoke clearly and obviously knew exactly what they were talking about."

Another highlight for many attendees was ‘A Website is a Journey, Not a Destination’ - a session led by Nina Primeraki and Tom Nolan, with examples and guidance connecting online journeys to business priorities and great customer experience. Nina gave another version of this session at the AMA conference in July - brilliantly accompanied by Jessica Ziebland from Discover Children’s Story Centre - and has converted it into a blog, so you can benefit from her key messages and practical examples if you couldn’t make either event.

Finally, users were invited to book 1:1 clinics with Support and Training Consultants, discussing their most pressing questions and exploring possibilities for future success. It was a bonus to hold those conversations in person, but of course we’re always here to work with you on one-off queries or longer term consultation - just drop us an email to tell us what’s on your mind, and we’d love to explore how Spektrix could help.

"Really useful insightful day, reassuring me that I can do my job & need to ignore the imposter syndrome."

It’s not really possible to capture all of the days’ other activities, either on a recording or in blog form. Whenever members of the Spektrix Community come together there’s a guarantee of fun, mutual support and inspiration, and this was as true as ever after two years’ enforced absence. It was wonderful to introduce longstanding system users to newer members of the community, to exchange ideas across artforms, departments and levels of experience, and of course to find out who would share the title of ‘Fastest Ticket Seller in the UK, 2022’ - congratulations to Penny from Chickenshed, Philip from St Martin-in-the-Fields, Christina from Horsecross Arts and Sam from Theatre Severn!

"Great presentations and sessions, very interactive. The very best balance of formality and informality. Good to hear some future developments, too!"
