Research* demonstrates how important it is to bring new audiences in for the first time, and then bring them back again. So, let's talk about how to keep your organization on prospective patrons' radar and help them find events that interest them.
With this recipe for an email sign-up form, you can make it easy for anyone to sign up to hear from you, even if they are not making a purchase yet.
Outcomes
- Communicate with email subscribers who have not bought tickets yet.
- Communicate with existing customers who may not have signed up to comms from you at the point of purchase.
- Have a place on your website to direct customers or website visitors to sign up to hear from you.
Ingredients
Cook
1. Create a simple sign-up form.
The sign-up form includes:
- First Name
- Last Name
and signs up the customer to any email Contact Preferences linked with Dotdigital.
2. Decide where your sign-up form should be on your website. It’s best practice to have the form available on every page by putting it on your footer or header.
3. Talk to your web developer about adding the sign-up form to your website. Your web developer will look after the styling, while Spektrix takes care of the more complex functions of adding the data to your database.
4. If you’re using Spektrix Link, simply enable the Mailing List page to appear on your Spektrix Link menu.
Keep going
Once you've set up your email sign-up form, use our contact preferences recipe to make use of the data you're collecting.
